When people talk about roads in Kenya, they talk about 'roads for cars'. Roads are made for people NOT cars! If the new Thika Road only caters for cars, then we shall continue having a very myopic investment in our transport system. We only have 1.2 million cars in Kenya. We are 40 million. Most people in Kenya walk -- even in urban areas. 2/3 of Kenya's cars are in Nairobi being driven in distances of less than 15km--work to residence. This is bicycle distance. We do not need to be space scientists to understand that we are using our resources in the most unintelligent way. You can make a change. Do it NOW!! Let us have bicycle paths in urban areas for health and productivity.
